My wife and I spent a week at the Comfort Hotel at the beginning of September 2011. We stayed in one of the suites and were very, very satisfied with it and the overall service in the hotel. The suite had good-sized space: sitting room with decorative marble fireplace, bedroom, and very nice bathroom. Very comfortable beds (we had them set up as single beds), no noise to speak of, very warm and gracious young reception-desk people (seemed to be about university age), tasty ample breakfast and also tea, coffee, and cookies throughout the day (very much appreciated when returning from a trek to wonderful places). The air-conditioning worked well, the wireless Internet worked flawlessly, there was a safe in the suite, the TV worked — mostly Russian-language programming but if you're watching a wonderful ballet ...

The hotel is in a truly great location — right in the historic heart of Petersburg — very easy walking distance to Hermitage/Winter Palace and Saint Isaac's Cathedral, Admiralty, etc. Plentiful restaurants, cafes, and shops in the nearby vicinity — the hotel can offer discount cards to a couple of them — we tried a very nearby Italian cafe which was more than satisfactory. We would recommend this very nice mini-hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, comfortable, very well located hotel — we would most assuredly stay here again for a week or two if we are ever lucky enough to get back to Petersburg — and it has an elevator to its location on the second floor! Just great!

I stayed in this hotel in November 2011. Prior to my arrival the first thing I noted was their genuine wish to ensure my stay was comfortable and that I had all the necessary documents for my stay in Russia. My enquiries by email were responded to promptly and a change of booking was handled with no fuss.

My room was superb... clean and comfortable. The only amenity I would have liked, but to be fair didnt ask for, was a kettle to make hot drinks. Next time I will make an enquiry.

The location of the Comfort Hotel is superb for easy access to the main shopping areas.

The staff were pleasant and receptive. I can and will recommend the Comfort Hotel to friends and colleagues.

I also recommend visiting the Hermitage Museam but book your tickets in advance to avoid lengthy queues..!

The hotel is in a perfect location, close to all the shops restaurants and bars. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. My room was very spacious and comfortable.

The only let-down was that the breakfast room was quite small and the selection wasn't that great!

My mother and I stayed 5 nights at Comfort Hotel in September. The location is excellent and we walked to many of the sights such as Nevsky Prospekt and St. Isaac's Cathedral. There are very good restaurants nearby.

Our room was basic and small, but functional, and to be honest we didn't spend too much time in our room anyway. We had 2 twin beds which were very comfortable and clean. There is free Wi-Fi which is very handy.

The breakfast is very decent. But best of all is the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. All my emails were answered promptly. I had arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport and he was waiting for us when we arrived. They recommended a private tour guide, Maria, who was fantastic. We had arranged a 3-day private tour of all the major sights with a car and driver. It was definitely worth the extra cost. We wouldn't have been able to do it all on our own.

Ask for a room that's not facing the major street (Morskaya). It can be noisy if you are a light sleeper.

Although the rooms are a bit small, we had a great 5-night stay at the Comfort Hotel. Not only were the staff nice and helpful, but they also were not condescending when I spoke Russian with them (which was not the case in Moscow).

The breakfast room is small, but the selection of food is very nice, and the staff is eager to make sure that everything is well stocked. The location of the hotel is also great; it's very close to Nevsky Prospekt and the Winter Palace. I wish Moscow had such a nice place to stay as this; perhaps the Comfort Hotel people could open one there?

The only difficulty I had was with making a reservation directly on their website, which I did to take advantage of some special offers they had. It would be nice if they had a better reservation option, rather than sending copies of credit cards, which is pretty risky, especially if you have to make such copies at a copy shop rather than from home.

We stayed in the Comfort Hotel for a week in August. Consistent with the other reviews, the hotel was clean, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the location excellent. There was only one electrical outlet in the room, a good distance from the bed, so you may want to bring an extension cord. Directly across from the hotel (just to the right as you exit) was a bank with an enclosed room (available I believe 24 hours a day) with 2 ATM machines. A convenience store, open 24/7, was available just down the block on the left as you exit. Several of the top rated restaurants on TA were located within a two block radius. We greatly enjoyed our stay there and would stay there again on a return visit.

My husband and I stayed here in June 2011. We had a lovely room with a bay window, which was very comfortable and clean and newly redecorated. All the staff spoke good English and were helpful in every way. We had arranged for the hotel to pick us up from the train station from Moscow and the driver was waiting right at out carriage door, which was wonderful as it is a very big and busy station.
Breakfast is ver good too, offering a good selection of hot and cold items. It is buffet style so everyone can have as much or as little as they feel like. Everything there was to see in St Petersburg was within walking distance, which was wonderful and the main reason for staying there. Excellent restaurants next door were a bonus!!

This Hotel was just so pleasant to stay at. I was able to have a good rest each night and a substantive breakfast each morning during my 10 day stay. The staff were courteous, helpful and friendly, as well as English speaking. The location was superb, everything major worth seeing apart from Peterhof was within walking distance.

The position is outstanding, right in the Historical Center of St Petersburg. The room was basic but clean, decently spacious and good value for money. I personally didn't need anything more anyway. Service is outstanding. As confirmed by other reviews the staff is very motivated and eager to help. Smiling. As a tip, rooms on the 3rd floor are a better option in terms of privacy for they have direct access without passing by the check in counter.
A very good option for budget travelers. Will come back and definitely recommended.

We stayed two weeks, so got a good idea. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff who get to know the relatively small number of guests. Great location for all the sites (a shortish walk to the Hermitage, close to Nevsky Prospekt etc), and the street itself and nearby restaurants are very pleasant. Good value for money. The only problem was rather expensive laundry, but that's a very common problem.

We spent 6 days at the Hotel and found its location to be excellent. Very close to all main attractions. We had 2 rooms which were both very clean and spacious. One room was the business room and had the added bonus of a computer, which came in handy to plan our sightseeing. Breakfast in our opinion was basic but adequate. The breakfast room was quite small and there was one morning when there was no seating available,

The staff are the biggest asset of the Hotel. Their English was very good and we found them all extremely helpful. Special thanks to Anna for her help and advice throughout our stay.

If we have one minor criticism it is the lack of prominent signage outside of the hotel entrance. Fix this and you have a first class establishment.

Room Tip: 303 noisy at times but great to have computer and 302 nice room

My husband and I stayed at the Comfort hotel for 7 nights. The first thing I would say is the hotel's location is perfect, being close to all the main sights. The standard double room was on the small side but both the room and bathroom very clean. Only one issue.. only 1 power point in the room which was where the telephone was plugged into, so had to take it in turns to charge mobiles etc! The staff are very helpful and speak good english. The breakfast was ok, not the best but did the job! If you are planning to visit the Hermitage I suggest you order tickets on line before you go as the queues were very long! I would recommend this hotel mainly for the location and the price, other hotels in the same area are 3 to 4 times the cost.

We were directed to the Comfort Hotel by our tour guide and it was an excellent choice. The standard rooms are very basic, but the deluxe room had a nice seating area. (We had two rooms, each for two people). Nothing was luxurious, but it was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.

But had to ask to get a new bar of soap (small bar and a six day stay) although there was liquid soap in the dispenser. The breakfast was not extensive, but very adequate: eggs, oatmeal, dried cereal, some fruit, bread, coffee, tea, tomatoes, cheese and I think meat too (being vegetarian, I didn't pay much attention to the meat) and sometimes crepes. We especially loved when they had crepes. The best part was its location, about midway between the Hermitage and St. Isaac's, near Nevsky Prospect. Lots of restaurants in the area and an easy walk to pretty much everywhere tourist go. Only one computer for guest use, located in the lobby, so had to wait occassionally to use it, but it was very fast — good connectivity.

Several other American touists were staying there. The rather cozy breakfast area was conducive to chattering with the other guests and we got some good tips. The desk clerks speak very good English and are very helpful with dinner reservations. Would certainly consider staying here again and recommend it to others.

This is a gem and no relation to the Comfort Inn chain. It's a boutique hotel, so a small number of rooms. The staff is friendly and attentive; they get that service should be a positive experience for guests, unlike some other tourist-industry personnel that we encountered in Russia. The rooms were lovely, and the hotel is in a great location - a short walk to the Hermitage. The one downside: we were there during the "White Nights". Even with both blinds and drapes, light leaked in as late as midnight and as early as 4:15 am.

What a find! All english speaking staff (some better than others), and extremely polite and helpful. Clean, secure and modern (rebuilt around 04, I think). Small and intimate place with big enough rooms by Russian standards. Great free coffee all the time and breakfast every morning included. Half the price of the big places and the best part is that it is only 2 blocks from Nevsky Prospect and no more than a 10 minute walk to everything. ( 5 minutes from the Hermitage, St. Isaac's, and the Neva river)

A beautiful, clean, friendly little hotel within easy walking distance to the greatest sights of Saint Petersburg. I was thrilled to discover it, and decided to stay on for additional days when I realized what great value it was. The English-spealing staff (especially Julia) were very helpful and made the stay there a pleasure. The large, tasty breakfast offerings kept me going all day. It's not a luxury hotel, but it is warm, cozy, and the perfect launch pad to experiencing beautiful St. Petersburg!

We were unsure of what to expect, but once we got there and saw the hotel, we were put at ease! The hotel was very clean, very secure, very nice! The staff was excellent, very helpful. All speaking English very well. The free breakfast in the morning was a nice touch, to be able to eat, have a nice cup of coffee without having to leave the hotel. The hotel was walking distance to most of the major sights. Being there for the "White Nights" was great, we walked around til 11:00-12:00 most nights!

My friend and I were there over C'mas - it was cold but beautiful. The hotel is close to most attractions and we walked to most places. The hotel staff were SO friendly - some renovations when we were there which made the hotel look a bit inaccessible - it took us 15 mins to find the hotel entrance (it's on the 1st floor). The workmen were there but didn't bother to tell us even when we tried to ask. Ah well, not the fault of the hotel they employ unfriendly builders!

There is a supermarket less than 100m away and we could stock up on drinks. There is a restaurant downstairs (doesn't belong to the hotel) and it's pretty good too. Not the cheapest but close enough to have a good meal, some drinks and roll back upstairs grin So great location and bedroom was fine if a little TOO hot. For C'mas day the hotel left us little gifts in the room which we thought were a nice touch. Oh yes, free wifi which I loved.

Stayed here with my husband for a long weekend in St Petersburg. The location is great and really close to all sights, we walked everywhere and did not need to use public transport. There are also loads of places to eat and drink right next to the hotel, including the excellent Baltika Brewery just a short walk away on the same road (if you turn left when you walk out of the hotel).

We booked a taxi from the airport via the hotel and their communication, help with visa support and help to all of our queries before we arrived in Russia was spot on. Taxi driver was waiting for us straight away and it was a short fast drive to the hotel (with the emphasis being on the fast!!!). We usually just sort something out when we arrive at airports but in this case it was all a bit hectic and we don’t speak Russian so glad we had booked beforehand even though it cost a little more. On the way back we just booked a normal taxi from the hotel reception and it was cheaper.

Arriving safely the hotel is not much to look at from the outside, just a doorway into it from the street but it’s much nicer inside. Upstairs the reception is small but nice, and what you would expect from any 3 star non chain hotel really. The staff all speak great English and were really really welcoming.

Our room was basic but had everything that we needed and 2 big windows looking out onto the street. It was also very clean and was kept very clean throughout our stay. Bathroom was an average size and clean too. It was also quiet. Breakfast is basic but absolutely fine…there are yoghurts, pastries, cereal, cheese bread cold meat etc all to help yourself to as well as tea and coffee whenever you want (including all the time throughout your stay) there is also omelette, porridge and frankfurter sausages in the hot trays. Not the best ever but certainly enough to set you up before you start walking round the sights.

They let you use the computer and internet for free and this was good for sorting our check in on the way home.

As you will see from all the reviews the staff were really friendly and helpful and arriving back from a day’s sightseeing on my Birthday we arrived back to the room to find a bottle of bubbly with glasses, a box of chocolates and the room decorated…very nice touch!

To sum up this is a lovely welcoming hotel and the location is fantastic. We would definitely stay here again. .
